Textiles are flexible materials created through an interlocking network of yarns or threads, which are produced by spinning raw natural or synthetic fibers. Historically, the term referred only to woven fabrics, but it now encompasses a wide range of materials produced by weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting, felting, or bonding.
